573 viewsCutty Sark; detail. Just look at the detail of the foredeck, and the way each deck plank is individually set into the waterway.

"Robert Hastie"538 viewsMost of our commissions are for private clients, but we happily undertake corporate commissions when called upon to do so. Here you can see a pair of cased models of the Milford Haven Port Authority's new pilot-boat "Robert Hastie", photographed in their boardroom.
(models by John Davies and Frank Hasted)
hastie6.jpg
"Robert Hastie"500 viewsDesigned by Camarc, a world specialist in this type of vessel (they have also designed boats for the New York pilot service), the "Robert Hastie" is a fine vessel of the most modern type. The model captures her powerful lines and distinctive appearance in every detail.

"Robert Hastie" (research pic)506 viewsAll our models are fully researched. During this project, we took over two hundred photographs of the real boat, which was also building at the time. A couple of pictures are included here out of interest, showing details of the forrard and after hatch structures.

ACHILLES908 viewsThis lovely little display piece is a model of a fast New York schooner, circa 1835.

Arun 52-01 half model.642 viewsThis was the original Arun, the boat that revolutionised the RNLI's fleet. We created this half model for one of her coxswains, on his retirement.

Bounty (wreck)653 viewsFrank Hasted admits it took all his skill to rescue this very rough "Bounty" hull which a client brought to him, but our before-and-after pictures show that even the worst part-built project can be brought to a successful conclusion.
(Original butchery by unknown builder, model rescued by Frank Hasted)
bountywreck2.jpg
Bounty (wreck... saved!)723 viewsYou'd never believe this fine model was rescued from the horrible bundle of sticks in the previous picture!
punt2.jpg
Clinker Punt.642 viewsHere is something a bit unusual. This little rowing boat faithfully reproduces the construction of a full-sized clinker dinghy. She is only twelve inches long, but she is faithfully planked up with individual strakes, and where there is a rib or a knee in the real boat, there is in the model too.
