Clyde Puffer (detail)1305 viewsYou can commemorate this world of honest toil with a model such as this one. Clyde Puffers make excellent models. The hull is capacious and stable. It will take a really substantial battery for long running times at a scale speed. These small ships can be modelled at a reasonably large scale, without becoming too big to display easily, or to transport to the water. Detail can thus be full, and individual detail parts can be made big enough to be resonably sturdy. Light weathering brings out the character of the model illustrated here. The result is a real delight. It is no wonder Puffer models are so justly popular. We will be very happy to quote for your requirements if you want one too.

Coaster "John Masefield"1354 views"Dirty British coaster with a salt-caked smokestack, butting up the Channel in the mad March days...." If you don't know Masefield's "Cargoes", you should. This model came to us basically sound, but needing some tidying up, and a new mechanism fitting. We did this, then sold her on. Here she is, running trials. What can be nicer than a pretty scale model, on a fine sunny morning?

Dragon class keelboat.929 viewsAs you can see, she sails very prettily. This example was commisioned for the famous Childe Beale collection. She was the third of the type we have built. The other two were a matching pair, researched from the full-sized vessels for their owner, who still sails them enthusiastically in a hard-fought racing series.

Dragon class keelboat.1053 viewsThe International Dragon racing keelboat was designed in Scandinavia in the 1930s. Scandinavian vessels are a byword for grace and beauty of line. The lines of the Dragon are absolutely classic. In my opinion, they cannot be improved on.

Fishguard lifeboat (2)1323 viewsAnother fine model, again based on the Model Slipway's 1/16th kit, but this time embellished with today's livery; the go-faster stripes and a set of specially commissioned transfers. This model has a rotating radar aerial, lights, sound, and other built-in goodies.

Fishguard lifeboat.925 viewsThe present Fishguard lifeboat, "Blue Peter VII", was the first offshore lifeboat to be paid for by the famous television programme. Their previous endowments to the RNLI had been inshore boats.
This model is based on the well-known Model Slipway kit. She was an elaborate and time-consuming model to build, taking over four hundred hours. Since every lifeboat is slightly different, we carried out a research visit to Fishguard to check what minor changes had been made to their boat, in order to ensure the accuracy of the model. The kit is extremely detailed, down to the rivets on the frames on the flying-bridge windscreens, and the keyboard on the computer-operated radar in the wheelhouse. She makes a magnificent model, which has a lively and convincing performance on the water.
The Model Slipway, who manufacture the kit on which this model is based, paid me a very pretty compliment on its appearance, and stated that they are happy to refer any requests they receive for completed versions of their range of kits to me.
