We charge our time at £7:50 per hour; a distinctly moderate rate for skilled fine work. While the hours do mount up over the course of a complex project, we do everything we can to keep the cost to you, the client, as affordable as possible.
Some of you may have suddenly acquired very heavy commitments of time; a new job, or a new child in the family. I vividly remember both happened to me at once and very little modelmaking got done for about three years as a result. Or maybe you simply prefer admiring them to building them. Many of us do.
Kit based, or built from scratch?
We will happily do either. Remember, though, that while most boat kits can certainly be completed to produce beautiful models, and can usually be built more quickly than scratch-built projects, professional model makers will tell you that they are often no easier. They usually require:
- considerable workshop space,
- a fairly comprehensive toolkit,
- considerable skill and experience,
- a particular set of personal attitudes
- and a flexible lifestyle. |
There are many enthusiasts, who love the delicate web of illusion
which is spun by a nice scale model,
who frankly do not enjoy time consuming workshop sessions,
mess,
the smell of glue and paint,
and the strain
which comes from weeks spent working to very close limits.
Not all real enthusiasts are builders, by any means.
It is for people like you that this bespoke service was designed.
